The internet is all a buzz over Guy Kawasakis suggestion that the new Motorola “X” phone will be customizable. That’s right folks, a customizable phone. The same way you can customize your PC you can now customize your phone, we hope.
When Google purchased Motorola many Android enthusiasts were hoping that Google would be able to make their own smartphone, the same way Apple does the iPhone. Since then, Moto has still been making phones based off the “RAZR” design and is still running their own overlay on top of Android. When the rumors of the “X” phone surfaced, the idea of a high end Nexus device from Motorola came back. But now it seems that Motorola may have gone a step further and allow the buyer to have much more options in what you can buy.
In my previous post Is it time for an Android super phone, I had written that no phone has reached that “superphone” status. If what Mr. Kawasaki has hinted at is true, we might have the first phone to show off top of the line hardware with all options and the latest version of Android.
This is definitely the phone I have been holding out for. I’ve even held back from getting the awesome Nexus 4, HTC One or Galaxy S IV. If it truly is configurable my design will be as follows:
1) Removable Battery of 2600mah or more.
2) Micro SD card slot
3) Micro HDMI slot
4) 13MP rear camera
5) 5MP front camera
6) 4.8” 1080p display
8) IR blaster
9) Only soft keys
10) Stock Android with no overlays
11) Flux Capacitor
